Three Years of Growth
March 20, 2016
On March 18, 2013, I officially joined the Development Authority of Columbia County as the Executive Director. The past three years have been a whirlwind filled with much growth and opportunity. Columbia County, GA is growing rapidly. This growth historically has been residential, but I can say without a doubt that our growth is becoming more holistic in nature. We are seeing a diverse array of new businesses and historic investments. It is a great time to be in Columbia County.
Since I joined the Development Authority, we have rebranded the organization, fostered new relationships with our local partners and businesses, co-founded the Greater Augusta Communities Partnership, helped to lead the area’s regional workforce study, and established Film Columbia County. All of our efforts have resulted in more than $150 million in capital investment, more than 650 announced/supported jobs, and more than 750,000 square feet of new building construction. This does not include the future growth of a hospital, expanding retail developments, or the exhibition center hotel.
The next few years will continue to see good growth in many sectors. I look forward to continuing to support this wonderful community as we plan for the future.
